The DCC4200 automation station is listed as one of the first BACnet certified products on the website www.bacnetinternational.org.

Kieback&Peter’s DC4200 automation station is one of the first certified BACnet products, listed at www.bacnetinternational.org. Since the beginning of 2010, products that successfully pass the testing procedures at the BACnet Testing Laboratories (BTL) and have qualified for the BTL logo are exclusively listed on this BACnet international website.

An agreement concerning the handling of certificates and listings is thus being implemented between the two leading BACnet user groups, the American BACnet International (BI) and the European BACnet Interest Group (BIG). All listings are located on the BI homepage. All certificates are administered by the European BIG and can be found on their homepage www.big-eu.org.

Certificates are particularly important in Europe. Outside of Europe the listing and BTL logo are of much higher importance. In both cases the product must have passed the tests in accordance with the principles of the BTL Lab. BI and BIG have jointly established the process and formalities to which companies must adhere with respect to their products, so that successfully tested products can be listed or can display their certificate.

Globally uniform tests

A further milestone in the cooperation of both organisations was the agreement, at the end of January 2010, on a unified testing tool, the BACnet Test Framework (BTF). This lays the groundwork for globally uniform tests with certifiable results. The accreditation of the American BTL test laboratory makes the tests conducted there certifiable in the future. The accreditation of the test laboratory is a prerequisite to allow a product to receive a certificate after successful testing.

DDC4200 already certified

The DDC4200 automation station already received the BACnet certificate of the European association BIG-EU, in April 2008, after comprehensive testing (using BTF) by WSPLab, a test laboratory accredited according to EN ISO/IEC 17025.
