Redundant BMS (building management system) offers additional security for building management. All functions of facility management are still available without interruption even when hardware fails, components are faulty, or there are power failures or maintenance work.
The redundant building management consists of two Neutrino-GLT servers. One server takes over the operational building management process as the active BMS. The second server works as a passive BMS, that is, it takes in only data. Both servers always have the same database and monitor each other. The SM104 Redundant BMS software module provides this so-called mirror system.
Should the active BMS fail or be switched off for maintenance work, the second BMS automatically takes over the building management functions. The change in roles takes place without interruption. The facility management remains fully available for all functions. Application areas for redundant BMS are wherever building management must meet very high requirements for reliability.
The "Deutsche Rentenversicherung" (German pension insurance) in Baden-Württemberg in Karlsruhe for example, secures its building management with a redundant GLT.
