The MD15 small actuator with the RZ, RWZ zone valves is suitable for heating as well as for cooling. It can be easily and seamlessly integrated into the Kieback&Peter systems for room automation and zone control. High control accuracy of the actuator and optimal design of the valves, in combination with Kieback&Peter's intelligent room and building automation, offer the best conditions for energy efficiency and comfort.

The product concept of the MD15 actuator and the RZ, RWZ zone valves pursues a consistent platform strategy. Both hardware and software are built up on a modular basis.

Simple and safe installation

The advantages of the MD15 small actuators and RZ, RWZ zone valves are already obvious during assembly. An automatic coupling makes a quick and easy mechanical connection between actuator and control valve shaft. The form-fitting connection guarantees that the valve cone is positioned as required and the volume flow rate is optimally controlled - an important requirement for energy efficiency. With a few simple steps the coupling can easily be disconnected.

Regulating valve for high performance

The RZ, RWZ zone valves have an optimized cone design. This is the prerequisite for a distinctive valve curve. Further advantages of the RZ, RWZ zone valves are zero leakage rates, a high adjustment ratio and an exceptionally large valve stroke of 6.5 mm. These properties guarantee high performance, and make a major contribution to solutions for energy efficiency.

Robust and reliable operating performance

Large dimensioned flow cross-sections and the fixed, form-fitting connection between the control valve and actuator provide a particularly robust operating performance even under unfavorable plant conditions. Particles of dirt and sediment are simply washed away by the medium.

Heating and cooling

The RZ, RWZ zone valves with the MD15 small actuator are optimally applicable for heating and cooling. The wide range of Cv values makes this possible.

A motor actuator for everything

The MD15 small actuator automatically identifies which type of control is fitted – whether for continuous or 3-point activation, or for 24 V AC or 24 V DC. It optimizes its operating performance independently without manual assistance. The MD15 small actuator can also optionally be provided with an open adjustable switch contact or with 230 V AC. Thus, the MD15 actuator is very flexible.

Intelligent software functions

Intelligent software functions, such as adjustable valve blocking protection or continuous status feedback support reliable operation. They also prevent the sticking of radiator valves during long shut-downs and ensure transparency on the automation and management level.

Low own energy consumption

The MD15 small actuator not only provides energy efficiency in heating and cooling. With a power consumption of less than 2 W it  uses very little energy even in active mode. Compared with other thermal actuators on the market a reduction in annual power consumption (= own energy consumption) of up to 75 percent per actuator is possible. This is an essential aspect for the compliance with the EuP Directive.

Extremely quiet operation

The MD15 small actuator operates virtually without noise. Its measured noise level (according to EN ISO 3741) of <16 dB(A) is below that of a very quiet room and is not perceptible to the human ear. In comparison to other motorized actuators for zone control or ball valves its noise level is unrivalled. The MD15 actuator is thus superbly adapted for sound-sensitive surroundings.

Flexibility

The MD15’s mechanical adaptation is customizable so that it can also be used with other commercially available radiator valves, small-sized valves and zone valves. This allows its advantages to be combined with commercially available standard valve product lines from different suppliers. Even existing installations can be quickly and easily updated with the modern motor actuator technology of the MD15 small actuator without interfering with the hydraulics.
